I love my Cruz !! gas mileage is fantastic. The best I've gotten on the highway is 57.3 mpg. I get anywhere between 29 and 35.6 mpg and sometimes higher just around the beach and traffic. It's very comfortable on a trip, as I have low back problems, comfort is very important to me, because I'm on the road a lot , and of course gas mileage is my priority, as I travel 65 miles every day just to take my daughter to school, plus whatever else I need to do. I had a Mazda and it beats the Mazda by far in every way. It's a beautiful car and not to big or small. Great car Chevy, keep up the good work !!
  • Best vehicle I have ever owned from 15 to 73

This so far has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I purchased from the dealer as a lease return with 42,000 miles and no CARFAX issues. It "Susie" is stylish, quick, drives like a sports car (had MG once) with tight cornering and short turning radius. She is quiet and comfortable with all controls easily managed, great sound system, room for 4 more, fold down rear seat for long access items in the trunk. She has an alternate 1st and 2nd gear manual control, if you don't want auto on the start off. At 102,000 miles of city/highway it runs like new (regular maintenance at dealer and others when not convenient- primarily dealer, which has given me excellent service and watchful eyes ). My gas mileage is fabulous for me with usually 33 mpg ( I have a heavy foot when trying to get on freeway), as long as I don't sit and idle (28mpg). My best mileage has been 36. I track every gas fill-up by the mileage info-battery strength, tire pressure, etc. I drive highway to work about 36 miles and 36 return from a small town 4 days and I will return to the city to shop or visit 2 days. I have had no front end or suspension problems (aligned at 92,000 when new set of tires were installed-don't know if original tires were the same). A major issue was a leaking coolant component. The unit leaked abruptly and problem could only be detected when hot. At the time I was not accessible to the dealer and placed with reputable shop but they could not find the problem (again only noticeable when hot. Part was fatigued after long wear (online info available). I replaced brake pads at the dealer last oil change/inspection after over 100,000 miles. I always asked, "how are my brakes?" and the answer was always the same, "ok". I have cold air, hot heat, multiple adjustments available, great visibility and on...I would have purchased this car new, but needed a better deal at the time. My dad always bought Chevys and they were always dependable. I should have listened to dad in the past for I may have saved some money and grief.
